UNC Health proposing 92-bed hospital on 22 acres at Westgate Shopping Center

UNC Health has unveiled plans to build a 92-bed acute-care hospital on a 22-acre parcel located at the Westgate Shopping Center. According to a site map released by the health system, the proposed facility would be situated within the existing shopping center's footprint, marking a significant expansion of medical services in the area.
The hospital is designed to provide comprehensive inpatient care, including emergency services, surgical suites, and diagnostic imaging.
