Myron Rolle, the former Florida State University football standout who famously balanced his athletic career with academic excellence as a Rhodes Scholar, has accepted a new position with the NFL Players Association. He will serve as an adviser focused on brain health and preventive care for current and former players.

Rolle, who played safety for the Seminoles before a brief stint in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans, brings a unique blend of medical expertise and firsthand playing experience to the role. After his playing days ended, he earned a medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine and later completed a neurosurgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. His background in neuroscience makes him a natural fit for the union's ongoing efforts to address head injuries and long-term cognitive health among athletes.

In his new capacity, Rolle will work with the NFLPA to develop programs that emphasize early detection of brain injuries and promote preventive care strategies.
